“I think that is why we stay close to our families, no matter how neurotic the members, how deeply annoying or dull- because when people have seen you at your worst, you don’t have to put on the mask as much.” ― Anne Lamott, Traveling Mercies

No-Foam Double Tall Soy Nuptials With Whip of the Day: A couple of coffee-lovers in Tulsa decided to say their I do’s at the same Starbucks where they met and fell in love.

“Actually when we first met I’d drink it, but I wasn’t’ a big coffee drinker,” Carmine Capparello told News9. “But I said sure I’ll go have coffee just so I could be with her.”

Capparello proposed to Eva McCarthy one month before going off to war. During his 15 months in Iraq, Eva visited the Starbucks at 51st and Harvard every week with her mom. “It was like family,” she says. “Everyone here is great.”

“From the very beginning we wanted to be part of it,” manager Jan Bethel says, adding that Starbucks loves supporting the community.

This was the first wedding hosted at a Tusla Starbucks, but given how many people worship daily at the altar of the twin-tailed siren, it’s likely not the last.

this reminds me so much of that scene in Best in Show.  you know what i’m talking about:

Grammar School of the Day: A school in Lee’s Summit, Missouri, is stirring up some mixed feelings toward a new policy that allows students only five grammatical errors per writing assignment.
“Students and parents were somewhat shocked to hear these changes,” wrote a Summit Christian Academy student reporter. ”The immediate reaction from the student body was that the changes were too harsh.”
Per the new policy, students who have more than five errors will be forced to rewrite their paper, and their top possible score will be capped at 75%.
“We have some who are thrilled and others who are highly concerned because it’s tied to scholarship dollars,” the academy’s prinicipal, Kim Gill, told Romenesko.
“One concession we’ve made is if it’s the same error that’s repeated in the paper, the teacher has the disgression [sic] to say, for example, I’m going to take these five run-on sentences and count them as one error.”
Disgression? See me after class.

i see absolutely nothing wrong with this and honestly, something like this should be more common.
